UPK students learn all about frogs

UPK students made frog puppets while learning about frogs recently.
Feb. 2, 2012
The children in Mrs. Jacob’s UPK
classroom recently learned all about frogs. The lesson started off
with a story read by Beginnings teacher Mrs. Nancy McKillip. The
National Geographic Kids story book filled, with illustrations and
interesting facts, helped the children learned about the different
varieties of frogs, facts about where frogs live and different
things frogs can do.
An art activity followed up the story giving each child the chance
to make their own frog hand puppet. Students also learned the song
“Five Green and Speckled Frogs,” and acted out the song in a large
group pretending they were green speckled frog and jumping off their
log.
