First-grade writers celebrated

First-graders showcased a year's worth of writing Monday, June 18. Parents, grandparents, teachers and others gathered outside to listen to the students read stories, poetry, author studies and other pieces from their writing portfolios. For the last several years, the school has held the year-end Authors Party to celebrate the students' writing accomplishments.
