On Friday December 19th
student members of Watervliet Students Against Destructive
Decisions (W.S.A.D.D.) went silent in solidarity to protest
the death or permanent injury of one teen every 17 minutes
due to an alcohol related car crash. The National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration reports that one out of every
23 drivers on the road at any given time is *impaired
(2007).
Throughout the day, every
17 minutes, a W.S.A.D.D. member wearing a special sweatshirt
and make-up put their hood up and went silent. |
