No Place for Hate Week

Watervliet Jr./Sr. High Schools annual No Place for Hate Week began with a presentation by the New York State Police for grades 7-8 students, and continued with the 3rd annual Mix It Up Lunch. More information

Lockdown drill completed at WJSHS

The district completed a lockdown drill at WJSHS this morning in collaboration with the Watervliet Police Department. These drills are intended to help students understand what they would need to do in the event of an emergency, and help school officials and first responders be prepared. This is one of several safety drills the school district must conduct each year by law.

Acceptable Use/Social Media Policy forms must be signed, returned

A reminder that all students must complete an Acceptable Use/Social Media Policy form annually to use school district computers and technology. The deadline to return signed forms is Sept. 30. More information

Grade 7 Orientation/Frozen Yogurt Social

Incoming seventh-graders and their parents, as well as all new students, are invited to join us on Tuesday, Sept. 6 for orientation followed by a frozen yogurt social. Students will have an opportunity to pick up their class schedule, visit their classrooms, meet their teachers, and be ready for the first day of school! The schedule is as follows:

1:30 pm: Welcome Back Assembly
- 1:45 pm: Students will obtain their schedule, visit their classroom, and set up their lockers.
- 2:15 pm: Frozen Yogurt Social

Summer reading provides an excellent opportunity for students to stay connected to literature, enhance literacy skills This year, one reading task is assigned to the entire class. This reading must be completed over the summer as it will constitute a vital component of the students’ first unit of study in September. More information

End of year grades will be released to the portal today -- Tuesday, June 28 -- at 2 p.m. To request a paper copy of your child's report card, please contact the guidance office at 629-3302 and one will be mailed.
