Search for new superintendent progressing

The Watervliet City School District Board of Education will meet Wednesday, Nov. 30 to discuss the appointment of a new superintendent.
During the meeting the board is expected to convene a closed-door executive session concerning the replacement of Dr. Paul J. Padalino, who earlier this month announced he will be leaving Watervliet to take the superintendent’s position in the Kingston City School District. The closed-door session is the sole item on the meeting agenda.
The position of superintendent has been posted internally at the district, and the board is not currently seeking outside applications. The board is consulting with Capital Region BOCES District Superintendent Charles S. Dedrick concerning the search.
The board’s Wednesday meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. in the administrative conference room at Watervliet Junior-Senior High School. View agenda
