Several bus routes eliminated or combined for 2012-13 school year

During the 2012-13 budget development process, the Watervliet City School District eliminated busing for students living within a half-mile radius of Watervliet Elementary School. The change allowed for the elimination of two bus runs resulting in a savings of $76,000 for the district.

Stops that have been eliminated or combined are as follows:

9th Avenue & Clinton Street
19th Street & 5th Avenue
19th Street & Grotto Court
7th Avenue & 18th Street
12th Avenue Hillside Drive
3rd Avenue & 19th Street
19th Street & Avenue A
19th Street & 7th Avenue
23rd Street & 8th Avenue
23rd Street & 4th Avenue (Mt Carmel)

Combined stops:
23rd Street & 2nd Avenue - Added to 21st Street & Whitehall
2nd Avenue & 25th Street (Joslin Apartments) - Added to 24th Street & Whitehall (Joslin Apartments)
Broadway and 24th Street - Added to 24th Street & Whitehall (Joslin Apartments)
