One case of whooping cough confirmed at elementary school

District officials are working with the Albany County Department of Health regarding one confirmed case of pertussis – also known as whooping cough – at the elementary school. The district has sent a letter and a pertussis fact sheet home to parents of elementary students. download letter and fact sheet

The student at the elementary school with the confirmed case of pertussis has received appropriate medical care, and all who had close contact with the individual have been identified and treated.

    If your child experiences any of the pertussis symptoms listed in the fact sheet, contact your child’s health care provider.
