First Quarter Report Card Night

Parental involvement important to student success

The Watervliet School District recognizes the importance of parent involvement. Watervliet Junior/Senior High School teachers look forward to seeing all parents at the First Quarter Report Card Night on Thursday, November 16 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

The arrangement and approach of the event focus on opening the lines of communication between school and home to increase parent engagement in their child’s education and an emphasis on student work to encourage an increased level of student accountability. As always, the overall goal this year is to support a shared responsibility – a partnership – between home and school that will result in improved student learning and academic growth.

On Thursday evening, parents and students will have a chance to review report cards together. Teachers will be prepared to share student progress made during the first quarter, as well as to demonstrate student strengths and identify areas where improvement is needed. Educators will also define expectations going forward through the school year. We look forward to seeing you.
