Exam week information and schedule

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:

With mid-year quickly approaching, we are planning for January Regents, mid-terms and mandatory review sessions. Junior high school students are in regular session during Regents week. High school students, grades 9-12 will attend only if they are scheduled for an exam or review session, so please read carefully. Download a copy of this letter

High school students may be scheduled to take a mid-term, Regents exam or attend review session on Monday, Jan. 22 through Thursday, Jan. 25. Please note: Friday, Jan. 26 is a regular school day for all junior/senior high school students.

Please see the schedule below, which clearly indicates the dates and times of exams. Be sure to carefully review the schedule to ensure your child attends. Please be aware that no make-up exams will be administered.

It is imperative that your child performs well on exams, so please encourage your child to take advantage of the mandatory review sessions offered prior to Regents week. A schedule of review classes is available on our school website.

High school students are expected to be on time to exams. Students may not be permitted into the testing area once all other students have reached the minimum seat time as per NYSED regulation. Morning exams begin promptly at 8 am and afternoon exams begin at 12:00 p.m. Students are required to sit for a minimum of two hours for all exams. All book bags, backpacks, purses, cell phones, i-Pods and other electronic devices will not be allowed into the testing area.

If an electronic device is found in the testing area, the student will be removed and his/her test will be disqualified. If a student brings any of these items to school, the items will be retained in the front office; however, the school district will not be responsible for electronic or valuable personal items. All valuable items should be left at home.

On Monday, Jan. 22 through Thursday, Jan. 25 high school students will be permitted to use our office phones to make arrangements for transportation, if necessary. Buses will run their regular morning routes. In addition, we will also run 10:10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:20 p.m. and 3:00/3:10 p.m. bus at the conclusion of morning and afternoon testing sessions. Download copy of bus schedule

A healthy breakfast and lunch will be served each day. Please be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and comes prepared to do their best!
