Global Studies Regents exam

Tuesday, June 5 is a half-day for junior high students

Dear Parents, Students and Guardians,

As we approach the end of the school year, we are planning and preparing for final exams and Regents testing. This letter provides information about the schedule for Tuesday, June 5 as it relates to student attendance. We will provide another letter next week with a schedule of important events and exams that clearly outlines the different schedules for high school and junior high school students for local and Regents testing that will take place between Tuesday, June 12 and Thursday, June 21.

The first high school Regents exam will be administered on Tuesday, June 5, which is a half day of school for the Watervliet school district. High school students who are eligible to take the Global Studies Regents will attend school during the morning of June 5. The Global Studies exam will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. High school students may not be permitted into the testing area if they are more than 30 minutes late. Students will be dismissed when they finish their exam. All students must sit for at least two (2) hours for the exam. All book bags, backpacks, purses, cell phones, i-Pods and other electronic devices will not be allowed into the testing area. If these items are brought to school they will be subject to a search and will be retained in the front office. The school district will not be responsible for electronic or valuable personal items. All valuable items should be left at home.

All junior high students (grades 7 and 8) will attend regularly-scheduled classes on Tuesday, June 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. This is a regular half-day schedule with dismissal after 4th period. Please note: breakfast only will be served on June 5.

If you have any questions regarding the June 5 schedule, please call the main office at 518-629-3300.
