Parent letter: Exam week schedule and information

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

This is the final full week of classes (June 4-8). The last day of class for junior high and high school students is Monday, June 11. Teachers continue to offer Regents review classes to help students prepare for exams. View review class schedule

Junior high students (7th and 8th grade) will take final exams in math, social studies, science and English from Tuesday, June 12 to Friday, June 15. Junior high students will be released at the conclusion of each final exam (10:00 a.m.).

High school students will take year-end Regents exams beginning Tuesday, June 12 through Wednesday, June 20. See the schedule that clearly indicates the dates and times of each exam. Please be sure to carefully review the schedule to ensure your child is in attendance. No make-up exams will be administered.

High school students will attend only if and when they are scheduled for a Regents or mandatory review session. It is imperative that your child does well, so please encourage your child to take advantage of the mandatory review sessions offered by their teacher. The review schedule is also here. Career and Technical Education (CTE) students will be in session through Monday, June 11.

High school students are expected to be on time. Students will not be permitted into the testing area if they are more than 30 minutes late. Morning exams begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and afternoon exams begin at 12:00 p.m. Students are required to sit for a minimum of two (2) hours for all exams. All book bags, backpacks, purses, cell phones, i-Pods and other electronic devices will not be allowed into the testing area. If these items are brought to school they will be subject to being searched and will be retained in the front office. The school district will not be responsible for electronic or valuable personal items. All valuable items should be left at home.

Students will be permitted to use school office phones to make arrangements for transportation. Buses will run their regular morning routes. In addition, buses will run at the conclusion of morning and afternoon testing sessions, see schedule below.

Lunches (sandwiches and salads only) will be served through Friday, June 15. Breakfast also will continue to be served through Friday, June 15. Please be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and comes prepared to do their best! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the guidance office at 518-629-3302.
